A portable salt tester for food is developed to help reduce excessive salt consumption habits and decrease the amount of sodium intake. Research related to the eating habits of Thai people has shown that many Thais consume too much salt, leading to high sodium levels in the body. This is one of the contributing factors to conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease.
To address salt consumption habits, the "CHEM METER" was created. It's a portable device for measuring salt levels in food samples, designed to aid in adjusting salt consumption habits and reducing sodium intake. This device measures salt content in the form of sodium chloride percentage (%NaCl) per 100 milliliters (g/100ml) of food. Developed in collaboration with medical experts and nutritionists, it is suitable for use by healthcare professionals, the general public, restaurants, and the food industry.
